Brethren Care Village Lights It Up!

30 Nov 2018 Uncategorized

Brethren Care Village lit up its campus on Thursday, November 29th.

As a now annual tradition, J&H Lawn Care decorated the buildings, trees and fences for a beautiful Christmas-time celebration. This year residents circled the campus in buses while staff and visitors enjoyed a ride in a horse-drawn wagon provided by Hiz Way Haflinger. Santa made a special appearance at the new Bistro inside the Wellness & Community Center allowing children of all ages to let him know their special requests. A special musical group provided carols adding to the Holiday Spirit.

What Is Home Care?

You or your loved one is unique, with a unique combination of strengths, challenges, and needs. While some people determine that assisted living is their best choice, others prefer receiving care in a familiar home setting. Personal assistance, service, and companionship provided by compassionate and qualified caregivers can offer peace of mind while you or your loved one continue to enjoy the comforts of home.

Home Health vs. Home Care

Although the terms are often used interchangeably, there is a difference between home health care and home care. Home health care provides treatment and rehabilitation from certified nurses, therapists, and other medical professionals: medication management, injections, IV therapy, occupational therapy, and other services. Home care, however, provides non-medical assistance with daily living.

What Does Home Care Provide?

Home care typically provides a broad range of help with personal activities and tasks, providing a level of assistance that enables residents to enjoy the freedoms of home while resting assured that they are healthy and safe. Recipients of home care may request help in the following areas:

Personal Care

Incontinence care

Skin care

Mobility Assistance

Ambulation assistance

Menu planning

Meal preparation

Bed making

Garbage removal

Personal clothing

Transportation and Scheduling

Office appointments

Games and cards

Medication Reminders

Respite Services

Family relief for short or extended periods of time

Try Home Care

Are you or your loved one finding it difficult to keep up with some of tasks of daily personal care or household management? Do you feel safe at home but don’t feel comfortable driving, cooking, or keeping track of your medication? Home care may be the solution.
