Yes, I would like additional information for:
Bradford Houses are memory care cottages specifically designed to provide assistance and supervision to seniors with memory impairment problems who can no longer live safely in their own homes, but do not need all of the medical services offered by our skilled nursing facility. Each Bradford House accommodates 5 residents with their own bedroom and bathroom. Residents are encouraged to participate in a wide-range of activities that are tailored to their specific abilities.
We have many activities to choose from such as swimming, Bingo, exercise, movies, and Bible studies, just to name a few. Many outdoor activities are also available, including shopping trips, bus rides, restaurant outings, and parade viewings. No matter which activity we choose, there is always a caring and competent helper standing close by. We are richly blessed and fortunate to be residents of such a wonderful residential community.
There is a family-like relationship between residents and staff. Everyone treats us as individuals, calls us by first name and knows each of our needs and wants. They’ve also gotten to know our family personally. Through the COVID-19 pandemic the staff have been extremely understanding about the importance of family and worked hard to make time for us to enjoy visits safely and get the supplies we need.
Shortly after my husband of 58 years passed away, I moved into an independent living apartment in Belmont Tower. I spent my life raising a family and running our family business, so I chose a living option that allowed me free time to participate in activities and social events with friends. During this stressful time of COVID-19 it has been nice to be protected and I am so grateful that I chose Belmont Tower as my home.
I enjoy all the many varied activities as well as the social interactions with other residents. The staff is so caring. I truly feel at home.
The facility and staff exceeded my expectations. I attribute my rapid recovery from my orthopedic injury to their professional and dedicated services.
Frequently asked questions
What are the Bradford Houses?
The Bradford Houses are specially-designed cottages with a five bedroom, four/five bathroom ranch design. They provide assistance and supervision for seniors with memory impairment problems who can no longer live safely in their own homes, but do not need all of the medical treatment offered by a skilled nursing facility.
What are the main advantages of this kind of approach to care?
A sense of safety brings security and order while encouraging each resident’s involvement in activities of daily living. This promotes personal relationships and communicates the importance of each individual’s dignity.
What makes Bradford Houses a home?
•Each resident has his/her own private bedroom, with most bedrooms having a private bathroom
•Everyone, including staff, dines together at the family table
•Everyone can assist in meal preparation in the kitchen
•The living room and den provide space for visiting with friends, family and other residents
•All residents are encouraged to participate in the everyday functions of the home
How are the Bradford Houses staffed?
One universal worker is staffed at all times and a full time L.P.N. is responsible for the medical care of each resident.
How will seniors who wander be kept safe?
The front door is secured through a keypad access. All other doors leading outside from the Bradford Houses go into an enclosed courtyard. The courtyard gates are secured, but with accommodations to exit in case of an emergency.
What can a person bring?
Personal belongings and decorations are encouraged. Bedrooms are furnished by residents with personal furniture and decorations. Space is allocated in the living room and den for personal decorative items. Personal belongings are essential to achieving our goal of creating a “home” for our seniors who live here.
