Independent living is for those who want the independence and privacy of a condo but without the worries of snow removal, maintenance, and lawn care.

Our residents enjoy the many amenities available on campus, including weekly outings, a full life enrichment calendar, free internet access, and are able to surround themselves with a caring community of staff and fellow campus residents in a vibrant social environment.

In terms of your health and safety, each living space is equipped with an Emergency Response System that allows for emergency support at the touch of a button, and you’ll have ongoing access to Brethren Care’s medical services. Additionally, if requested, a member of our caring team of licensed nurses can perform a monthly well-check for you.

Our Facilities

Brethren Care Village offers two living space options for those who want the best out of life without the worries and responsibilities that come with living entirely on your own. Bloomfield Cottages offer independent living in a lovely wooded setting, while Bay Laurel’s picturesque apartments, conveniently located within the Wellness & Community Center, offer relaxing retirement living. Independent living at Brethren Care Village allows you to get the most out of this season of life, while ensuring you have access to everything you need in terms of safety and medical care. And once you’re part of our community, you’re home. As your needs change in the coming years and decades, our campus is prepared to address whatever new situations arise. We’ll be right there at your side at every step.

Our Team

One of the areas of emphasis that separates Independent Living at Brethren Care Village from other care facilities is our compassionate, dedicated staff. Our goal is to provide our residents with a comfortable and convenient living space that allows you to thrive—while simultaneously ensuring that if you ever need help, we’re there for you with the care you require.

We hire special people at Brethren Care Village. Each member of our staff who you interact with as you engage with the wider campus community is, above and beyond their specialized training, compassionate, responsive, and ready to ensure all your needs are met. Our staff cares. And they love having you as a member of the family.

How This Works

Here’s how the process works, along with our promise to you as a valued independent resident of Brethren Care Village.

The Plan:

Reach out via our contact form or by telephone.
A member of our team will schedule a meeting with you.
During this meeting, we’ll work with you to create a personalized plan for what best fits your life and goals in terms of independent living.
From there, we’ll schedule move-in date and complete the necessary paperwork.

Our promise:

Our primary calling in life to keep our residents happy, healthy, and fulfilled across all areas of their lives.
We will grow with you as your needs change. Our wide levels of available care mean you’re able to remain on campus no matter what health events or situational changes happen in your life.
Our independent living residents receive the care they need, right when they need it, from highly-trained professionals who consider each resident a treasured member of our family.

I thank the Lord each day for guiding my steps to live here.

Living in Bay Laurel, I have the amenities of living alone but also the safety net of the Belmont Tower staff should I need it. The staff here are wonderful, I can’t say enough good things about them! They are caring and compassionate and really work from the heart.
