Bradford Houses are memory care cottages specifically designed to provide assistance and supervision to seniors with memory impairment problems who can no longer live safely in their own homes, but do not need all of the medical services offered by our skilled nursing facility. Each Bradford House accommodates 5 residents with their own bedroom and bathroom. Residents are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities that are tailored to their specific abilities.
Life in the Bradford Houses at Brethren Care Village centers around comfort, familiarity, and engagement. Based on established science regarding memory impairment and its care and treatment, the Bradford Houses are structured to be a familiar home environment for those living with us.
Each resident has their own private bedroom and most bedrooms have a private bathroom. For meals, everyone, including staff, dines together at the family table, and everyone can assist in meal preparation in the kitchen.
Personal belongings are essential to achieving our goal of creating a “home” for our seniors who live here, so residents’ own belongings and decorations are encouraged. Residents are able to furnish their bedrooms with their own furniture and sentimental items. We’ve even allocated space in the living room and den for personal decorative items.
In terms of daily life, our memory care residents are encouraged to participate in the everyday functions of the home and engage with our robust community calendar designed specifically for the needs of each individual.
